Networkers look to reel in business with a return to face-to-face meetings

A Leek based business network organisation, which has been meeting online since March 2020, is due to return to face-to-face meetings following the latest easing of lockdown restrictions.

Gone Fishing 4 Business is open to anyone in business. They meet fortnightly and will recommence face-to-face meetings at the Foxlowe Arts Centre on Friday 4th June.

The group was started over three years ago by Jed Eatough, director of Leek based LSGK Accountants, who said: “Most network groups in the area have a subscription-based membership and insist on referrals. Gone Fishing 4 Business is a lot more casual in that you can come to a meeting when you want to with no commitment to long-term membership.

“It has been great to continue networking through the pandemic, but all of the participants agree that there is nothing like meeting in person to build lasting relationships as we do business with people we know and trust.

“We have over 60 people who have attended our meetings with around 20 attending at any time. It is a great mix from all sorts of businesses and charities, and we always make new attendees feel welcome.

“I am personally looking forward to meeting at the Foxlowe Arts Centre. Vicky Heath and the staff there have been really helpful, the venue has plenty of space and we will be following COVID-19 guidelines and meeting in groups of six for a convivial and safe meeting.”
